Cars

 

    Cars is that movie and I still can't believe it got picked to watch for the whole class. I know when me, Max, and Jake were getting together to come up with a movie to wanted to have some fun during finals week and pick a more chill movie. It came down to Shrek or Cars and we picked Cars. I am glad we did as it is one of my favorite movies of all time and I feel like I have not watched it in so long. It has solidified its place as one of the best Disney movies of all time in my opinion. I think the best thing about Cars it is more than just a racing movie, it shares many valuable lessons. Lightning McQueen undergoes significant personal growth as he finds himself stuck in the small town of Radiator Springs. I think it was a cool journey for McQueen to get humbled and had to learn it's not only about him in life. McQueen had to learn about the value of relationships and the joy found in life's simpler moments. The details with Cars in different aspects of the movie is really eye popping too as it is all around the movie like cars instead of the Grand Canyon. Another really interesting aspect was the actors in this move, which is one of the best casted movies I can honestly think of. Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, and Paul Newman were perfect fits for the movie and can't think of anyone better for this role. Lastly, Cars not only succeeded as a standalone film but also became a cultural phenomenon, with toys, clothing, and other products flying off the shelves. The popularity of characters like Lightning McQueen and Mater extended beyond the screen, turning them into icons. Additionally, the success of Cars contributed to the creation of the Cars Land attraction at Disney California Adventure Park, further solidifying its place in Disney's legacy. I am so glad we got to watch this in class and think it was a perfect way to end the semester.
